Escaping to South Puget Sound
This September I planned to take part of a week off for a personal trip, heading south, past the Tacoma Narrows, to explore a part of our waters I’d never experienced. When a couple of friends mentioned they’d be in town during that time, it took us no time at all to assemble of full crew and a plan. It turned out to be one of the most relaxing and enjoyable sailing excursions of my career. And I hesitate to tell the world how amazing – and quiet – South Sound is. Two of our crew (Johnie Gall and Andy Cochrane) co-wrote a couple articles about the trip that tells it better than I can…and yes, I think we invented Circus Wake-SUPing behind a sail boat!
