WHAT’S NEW ON TRUE
This winter we took a much needed break from big structural projects aboard. This allowed us to keep our doors open and take some winter bookings. That said, the little projects add up fast and there’s always something to do. The work we hired local crafts folk for included our lovely new mainsail from our sailmaker, Sean, at Northwest Sails & Canvas in Port Hadlock, and a new fancy dodger from Sonja at Olympic Canvas. We love our community of amazingly skilled maritime crafts folk. Sean has built all the sails I’ve had built and is an amazing educator as well, and it’s been awesome working with Sonja to create this dream dodger…a long wished for project!
The ship has had all sorts of little overhauls of lighting, hardware, bilge pumps, vhf radio, etc, etc. It feels like we’re getting to the top of the mountain on what could be considered the 8th year of a 10 year refit. The boat was built in 1965 and I have to say we are extremely proud of the condition she’s in. With a lot of help from our friends and community, her upgrade, repairs and improvements have her in good nick, as they say.
