Blake Island & Port Blakely Overnight Adventure
This adventure has it all – plenty of sailing, island exploration and a peaceful night at anchor in an idyllic, tranquil harbor. This full day/and one night trip departs our home-port of Eagle Harbor, setting sail for Blake Island.
Blake is a unique find, tucked into Puget Sound between Vashon and Bainbridge Islands, within view of Seattle. The entirety of the island is covered by State Park lands and is only accessible by boat. You’ll find a host of wildlife from otters and seals to eagles, raccoons and deer, sometimes all together on one stretch of beach. It hosts a great network of hiking trails and beautiful beaches, and is a fantastic place to stretch the legs and explore before jumping back aboard and setting sail for Port Blakely, where you’ll spend the night at anchor.
Port Blakely is back on Bainbridge Island, but feels a world away from our departure harbor of Eagle Harbor. Home to a park that was once the site of the largest saw mill in the world, the harbor holds a lot of history for the island and, indeed, the region. At night, the glow of the bioluminescence in the water will blow your mind!
Captain Ben will set the anchor, get you settled and row ashore, leaving you to enjoy your night afloat. He’ll return in the morning to weigh the anchor and sail you back to Eagle Harbor with a smile on your face and deep relaxation in your soul.
