The Yacht
TRUE comes from the design desk of world-renowned naval architect, John Alden, who designed over 1000 boats, including the majestic schooners of the 1930s and 40s. His work, without question, represents great American boat design, and our 44-foot Pearson Countess Ketch, TRUE, is no exception.
She is a sturdy, ocean-going vessel, masterfully designed for moving through calm and rough seas alike, with grace and ease, carrying you safely and comfortably on your journey.
Below decks you first enter the pilothouse, with it’s raised dinette to port and settee/berth to starboard. The pilothouse offers a wonderful all-weather station to take in 360-degree view at anchor, or continue enjoying being underway, without worrying about the conditions.
True’s dining salon provides a warm, elegant place to enjoy your meals aboard. The main dinette converts into a double berth sleeping 2, with a single bunk above, for a third person.
Her galley has all the necessities of your kitchen at home, complete with refrigeration & freezer, double stainless steel sinks, plenty of storage, cookware, and flatware, a three-burner gas range and oven.
At the center of the vessel lies the hearth, our beloved Cubic Mini Woodstove, providing unmatchable warmth and ambience.
Forward of the galley and dining salon is the spacious and comfortable head (fancy sailor speak for bathroom) with toilet and hot shower.
The last stop at the front of the boat is the forward private cabin with a spacious double v-berth, en suit head access and hanging closet, as well as a plethora of cabinet and drawer space.
Moving back above decks, you’ll see that TRUE is a ketch rig, double-masted, carrying three working sails at a total sail area of almost 900sq ft. Perhaps the only thing that compares to the sight of TRUE with all her canvas flying, and 32,000lbs of ocean-going vessel being moved through the waters by a great, mysterious force of nature, is to actually be on board, sailing her! We hope you’ll join us and feel the thrill yourself.
