This is our absolute favorite way to spend a night away! My wife and I make time for it whenever we can!
A relatively short sail from Bainbridge Island (approx. 1.5hr), Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood has so much to offer in the way of food and drink as you wander the brick streets of the “old town”. There seems to be friend chicken at every stop!
Upon arrival to Shilshole Bay Marina, we’ll get you all set up and then leave you for the night on the docks. The marina even supplies complimentary bikes for guests. You’ll be able to explore Golden Gardens waterfront park, or follow the easy-riding Burke-Gilman trail into the heart of Ballard. Everything is also easily accessible by taxi or on foot, making this a great year-round package.
In old Ballard we like to take our time wandering the streets and just stopping into wherever looks good in the moment. We tend to build our meals over the course of the evening by eating and drinking small amounts at a variety of restaurants, tasting our way through the town! It does not disappoint. This is arguably Seattle’s hippest and fastest growing neighborhood. You’ll also find plenty of great live music venues along Ballard Ave – this is the neighborhood where Ben’s band, St. Paul de Vence came onto the Seattle scene.
And at the end of the night, you don’t have to travel far to find yourself back at the boat, cozied up in Ketut’s elegant accommodations.
In the morning, after you’ve had your breakfast, and maybe a morning walk along the pier, we’ll rejoin the party to sail you back to Bainbridge Island.
